What is this build trying to do?

Build around reliable access to a vulnerable target and several compatible attacks. Value initiative flexibility and escape movement. Avoid filling the hand with conditional burst that works only when the enemy and allies stand in exact positions.

This is a role-based strategy framework. It does not claim to be a verified level-by-level digital card, equipment or perk list. Check the current digital card text before making an irreversible selection.

How do you set up a repeatable turn?

  1. Choose a target whose removal matters before other allied attacks resolve.
  2. Approach with a plan for the survivor and any enemies behind it.
  3. Use the attack sequence, then protect the next turn with positioning rather than remaining exposed.

Pick a priority enemy and count the movement needed to reach it and survive afterward. Coordinate concentrated attacks so you do not overkill a target a teammate would already remove. Use control and concealment as preparation for another productive turn.

Which cards should you prioritize?

Separate trophy acquisition from trophy spending. Grim Trophies is digitally documented to grant its trophy on looting a loot bag, and its other effect requires enough trophies; budget around that requirement. Death Spiral and Staring into the Abyss are confirmed digital candidates to inspect for payoff. Preserve a repeatable attack and access to a second target when the planned victim dies early.

Compare a candidate card against the job your current hand cannot accomplish: reaching a useful hex, making the primary attack legal, surviving the next enemy action or recovering a disrupted turn. Avoid upgrading a number while losing the only action that keeps the sequence reliable. Exact level selections remain subject to digital Codex verification.

How should equipment and perks support the plan?

Prioritize tools that let you reach the intended victim and survive the following enemy actions. An accuracy or damage item should support a sequence that actually lands before the target dies to an ally. Check any Bane interaction against current card text and boss immunity.

A trophy build needs a reliable acquisition rate before a perk that only improves spending. An aggressive multiple-attack hand may gain more from modifier consistency than from another conditional resource sink. Keep perks tied to your chosen target and rest-cycle plan.

What should you change when the plan fails?

Do not treat every loot-like object as a loot bag that fuels Grim Trophies. Do not spend the last trophies on a minor target if the next turn depends on a stronger effect. Digital notes also correct interactions between invisibility-like effects, movement and trophy abilities.

Identify whether the failure was positioning, timing, a resource shortage or a party mismatch before replacing the entire hand. Record a change and test it over another expedition rather than changing several decisions at once.

Which references help with this build?

Start with the Deepwraith class reference, use party composition to assign allies’ roles, and revisit card economy when the party exhausts before completing its objective.

Evidence boundary: Digital alias, broad playstyle and campaign availability confirmed by official Into the Abyss announcement. Exact card text, numeric values and unlock prerequisites still require digital Codex verification.
