Plan two-card turns with useful fallbacks
A good pair covers the intended action and an alternative. Think about your final position and the next round before committing to maximum damage.

How do you build a reliable turn?
Start with a concrete outcome: remove an enemy, cross a room, protect an ally or interact with an objective. Then identify the movement and action needed to accomplish it. Check that the two chosen cards actually supply those jobs together. For the tabletop rules underlying the adaptation, turns generally combine a top action from one card with a bottom action from the other; follow the digital interface and any current special rules when resolving exceptions.
What makes a fallback useful?
Imagine that your intended target is defeated before you act. Can the same pair reach another enemy, collect useful loot safely or move toward the next objective? A fallback need not be equally powerful; it should keep the round productive. Pick initiative with the action in mind. Acting early is helpful when prevention matters, while acting later can let enemies approach. Check whether the square you want will still be reachable after allied movement.
How should you react after the reveal?
Read enemy actions before moving. If their attack or range changes, reconsider where your character should finish. Avoid confirming the planned movement automatically simply because it was correct during selection. Sometimes the strongest revision is to do less damage and end safely. After the round, look at what remains in hand so that this pair does not leave every useful movement option in discard when the objective shifts.
Which references should you keep nearby?
Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
