Read enemy actions before choosing your route

Enemy behavior is a source of planning information. Inspect the revealed action and reachable attack positions instead of reacting only to distance.

What should you inspect?

For each dangerous enemy group, read the current action, initiative and relevant status effects. Determine which attacks can actually reach a party member and whether movement is present on that action. Do not assume every enemy moves and attacks on every turn. In the digital version, use available previews and tooltips, but check the action text when an apparent route seems surprising.

How do you make a safer movement decision?

Compare two or three possible ending hexes. Ask which enemy attacks each one permits, whether an ally blocks your escape and whether the next objective remains reachable. When possible, remove an enemy that has a threatening action before spending damage on one that cannot contribute this round. Reconsider the threat after each kill or forced movement, since paths and focus opportunities may change.

Which assumptions should you avoid?

Do not expect a monster to take a damaging route if it has a safe way to perform its attack. Do not rely on a remembered tabletop tiebreak when the digital implementation or scenario rule shows something different. Exact focus resolution is a rules question; this guide recommends checking it rather than inventing a shortcut. When a preview appears inconsistent, read the special rules and active effects, then document the situation with the enemy action and board position before reporting a bug.

Which references should you keep nearby?

Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
