Pyroclast build: Terrain corridor controller
A practical Pyroclast build framework: role, turn planning, equipment priorities, perk choices and common mistakes.

What is this build trying to do?
Favor terrain creation, repeatable control and movement that keeps your own character relevant. Build damage through useful paths rather than simply covering empty spaces. Keep alternate answers for flying enemies and encounters that move quickly.
This is a role-based strategy framework. It does not claim to be a verified level-by-level digital card, equipment or perk list. Check the current digital card text before making an irreversible selection.
How do you set up a repeatable turn?
- Preserve a safe friendly route to the objective.
- Place terrain where enemy movement and your forced movement can make use of it.
- Apply the control sequence and reassess how the surviving enemies will travel.
Place terrain where enemies must make a useful choice, while preserving friendly access to objectives. Plan placement together with any push or pull. Compare the board after the attack with the board after the forced movement before choosing the order.
Which cards should you prioritize?
Bring terrain creation, a delivery mechanism and a way to remain productive while repositioning. Igneous Path is digitally confirmed to place terrain along selected hexes. Quenched Rage, Living Magma, Return to the Source and Hardened Spike are documented digital cards to inspect for a terrain-and-attack package. Add another creator only if you can use its terrain without obstructing the team.
Compare a candidate card against the job your current hand cannot accomplish: reaching a useful hex, making the primary attack legal, surviving the next enemy action or recovering a disrupted turn. Avoid upgrading a number while losing the only action that keeps the sequence reliable. Exact level selections remain subject to digital Codex verification.
How should equipment and perks support the plan?
Prioritize movement that keeps pace with the terrain plan and defense that lets you stand where your attacks work. Check whether a terrain-creating item uses class limits and whether a modifier bonus affects the actual attack. Do not buy a melee-only boost for an effect that is direct terrain damage.
Measured is a digital perk specifically linked in official notes to friendly treatment of Meteor’s terrain. Inspect it before attempting a crowded party-control build. Elbow is also named in a combined-push fix; assess whether your actual hand creates enough pushes to justify it.
What should you change when the plan fails?
Do not replace digital perk names with a tabletop guide’s assumed equivalent: the official notes use Measured. Also, Living Magma’s element occurs at end of turn in the corrected digital behavior, so it cannot fuel an earlier action in the same turn.
Identify whether the failure was positioning, timing, a resource shortage or a party mismatch before replacing the entire hand. Record a change and test it over another expedition rather than changing several decisions at once.
Which references help with this build?
Start with the Pyroclast class reference, use party composition to assign allies’ roles, and revisit card economy when the party exhausts before completing its objective.
Evidence boundary: Roster name corroborated against tabletop index and digital full-roster announcement; exact digital class text and unlock require Codex verification. Strategy is tabletop-informed editorial advice.
