Plan element generation and consumption
Elements are shared timing resources. Name the intended consumer before building a turn around an infusion or empowered action.

What should you establish first?
Identify which actions in the party create elements and which ones need them. An element-dependent attack should have a realistic source, rather than assuming the board will provide it. Use the digital element display and current card wording to check availability and timing. Tabletop timing is useful context, but do not infer that an element created during an action is immediately usable by another part of that same turn.
How do you coordinate supply?
Plan the generator and intended consumer as a sequence. Check initiative, remaining enemies and whether somebody else could need the same resource. Give the consumer a useful unempowered option in case the original sequence becomes impossible. A modest reliable action can outperform a powerful card that repeatedly misses its element. If the party has two hungry engines, deliberately divide responsibilities or bring additional generation rather than discovering the conflict mid-round.
When should you abandon the planned combination?
If the target dies, a teammate must rest or a scenario effect changes the board, evaluate the new situation instead of spending an element merely because it was prepared. Preserve it for a more useful legal action when possible. Avoid taking an entire setup turn for a benefit that no longer advances the objective. After the mission, note which element was consistently missing and change that part of the hand before adding more conditional consumers.
Which references should you keep nearby?
Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
