Enemy field guide: read the action before you move

What should you read before taking a turn?

Inspect the revealed action, movement, attack range and any special effect. A familiar model does not guarantee a familiar turn. If an enemy is not attacking this round, standing closer may be safe; if it has an unexpected area effect, a previously good formation may become expensive.

Which enemies are documented in digital sources?

Abael Herder

Commands and summons Piranha Pigs, amplifying the group’s pressure. Compare killing the herder with thinning its flock; the right target depends on the revealed command and the pigs already active.

Abael Scout

Fast spear user whose poison makes repeated hits costly. Remove a reachable scout before accepting unnecessary poison, and preserve a recovery action for the next engagement.

Algox Archer

Mobile ranged threat with traps and immobilizing attacks. Check the attack lane before moving into range; remove a reachable archer when it would otherwise pin a melee hero.

Algox Priest

Fragile mixed-range fighter whose numbers and poison create danger. Use multi-target attacks when they remove real enemy turns, but do not overcommit a loss to a lone survivor.

How do you avoid expensive trades?

Consider the enemy turn that your attack prevents. A kill or effective control action can preserve both hit points and cards. Check whether summons or allies will occupy the hex you need before committing.

Use scenario references, compare class tools, and preserve card economy when deciding whether to spend a powerful action.
