What belongs on your pre-mission checklist?

Read the objective, special rules and visible terrain information before finalizing the hand. Identify whether the party needs to defeat enemies, protect an ally, move a figure, collect objects or interact with locations. Note any failure condition and whether the scenario changes normal behavior. In digital 1.0, the official notes specifically mention expanded scenario special-rule information; consult that panel when a situation looks unusual.

How do you adapt the build?

Choose enough movement to reach the important spaces and enough repeatable contribution to handle threats on the way. A stationary engine that shines in a long fight may need fewer setup effects in a travelling scenario. Assign objective jobs to heroes who can perform them without abandoning the party’s only reliable damage or support. Keep a substitute in case that hero becomes delayed, disabled or exhausted.

How do you learn from a failed attempt?

Identify whether defeat came from combat pressure, wasted travel or misunderstanding the rule. Change the relevant part of the hand and opening route. Do not increase damage automatically if the real issue was reaching an interaction point. Check whether special objects obey ordinary targeting and movement rules before spending a powerful effect on them. Historical patch notes confirm that individual quests have had unique interactions; they are a reason to read current rules carefully, not a guarantee that an old workaround remains necessary.

Which references should you keep nearby?

Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
