Keep summons productive without blocking allies

Summons need useful paths and targets. Plan their next activation, not just the hex where they appear.

Where should a summon enter play?

Look at the next fight and the friendly movement lanes before choosing a placement. A unit summoned far behind the party may spend several turns travelling; one placed too far forward may immediately take unnecessary attacks. Choose a position that lets it contribute soon without closing the only passage. Consider whether your hero has time to support the summon before enemies act.

What should you inspect on later turns?

Check the summon’s likely focus, movement and available attack position before spending a command or support action. Make sure the target remains reachable after allied movement. Your character’s best action may be clearing an obstacle in the team’s plan, such as removing a blocking enemy, rather than adding another summon. When a fight ends, decide how the existing units will reach the next useful engagement.

How do you avoid common losses?

A summon is not automatically an expendable shield, especially if replacing it costs important cards or health. Compare the prevented damage with the future contribution you lose. Be especially careful around retaliation, area attacks and scenarios that damage particular tiles. Tabletop guidance does not prove every digital command interaction, so follow current card text and the interface. If a summon stops unexpectedly, inspect legal paths and focus before assuming the game failed. Record the situation if the preview and resolved behavior disagree.

Which references should you keep nearby?

Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
