Plan outpost upgrades around the next bottleneck
Choose upgrades for the capabilities they unlock and the resources the party needs. Read the current digital phase flow before leaving town.

What should you review on returning?
Inspect the current outpost state, available construction and the next campaign objective. Separate immediate repairs or mandatory choices from optional improvements. The digital adaptation changes aspects of the outpost flow, and 1.0 includes further interface and building changes, so use the current screen order instead of copying a tabletop checklist verbatim. Review the consequences before advancing past a confirmation.
How do you choose between upgrades?
Name the problem the party wants to solve: limited crafting choices, equipment access, a campaign requirement or settlement resilience. Compare upgrades by the capability they enable rather than by their visual prominence. Check the actual resource cost and prerequisites on screen. Coordinate spending before individual characters craft specialist equipment, especially when both choices rely on the same scarce materials.
How do you prevent waste?
Avoid a rigid universal build order. The useful choice depends on what your campaign has unlocked and which resources have accumulated. Keep a short list of the next two desired improvements, then revisit it after discoveries and events. When a new building introduces a subsystem, inspect it before committing the rest of the budget elsewhere. Exact upgrade costs, defense values and unlock conditions require current digital verification; this guide deliberately does not replace the building screen with unverified numbers. Recheck the choice whenever a new campaign unlock changes the available options.
Which references should you keep nearby?
Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
